Festive Bag Toppers For Inexpensive Holiday Gifts

I picked up some fun, inexpensive Christmas gifts for neighbors, co-workers, and hostess gifts.  To make them more festive, and appropriate for the holidays, I created some tag toppers using the Goody Bag Topper from Mama Elephant.

To create the floral embellishments, I added some watercolors to some watercolor paper and then cut the flowers and leaves once the paint dried.  I used the Christmas Bird Poinsettia die from Spellbinders for these particular flowers.

The bag toppers were easy to create using the Goody Bag Topper die from Mama Elephant. I cut them from heavy weight cardstock and then added the floral embellishments and sentiment.

I attached them to the top of several different items using strong adhesive tear tape.

I plan to create a few more using the Build A Snowman die from Lawn Fawn.  I thought those would be cute filled with hot cocoa packets and marshmallows.  I'll leave them in a basket at my front door for some holiday cheer and treats for all the amazing delivery drivers.

Thank you so much for stopping by.  I hope you're inspired to create something today.

Cup of Cheer

Lately I've definitely been a fan of color.  It's fun to mix 'n match and try new to me combos.

Joy & Cheer with Cover Dies

Hi friends! This is Amanda from Twiddler's Nook. Today I have more Christmas inspiration for you combining some sweet Pretty Pink Posh images with a fabulous Mama Elephant cover die. Don't forget when you have these awesome dies in your stash because they're often perfect to mix with images from any company. I love the Mama Elephant covers that are designed for the little agenda series. The repeat shapes are a great base and often give you a two-for-one by keeping the windows that cut out for another card.

Mama Elephant Ornament Cover Die

Today I cut the Mama Elephant Ornament Grid cover die from white cardstock and the toppers from gold glitter. I used liquid glue to adhere all the pieces and set the panel aside. I inked up another panel with Lawn Fawn peacock ink and splattered it with gold watercolor.

While that was drying I pulled out the Pretty Pink Posh Reindeer Friends stamp set to choose my images. I stamped and colored everything with copic markers and used the coordinating dies to cut them all out. Then I stamped and heat embossed a sentiment from Pretty Pink Posh Sentiment Strips: Christmas and used a sentiment strip die to cut it out.

I used liquid glue to adhere my background panel elements together and to a card base. Then I popped everything else up with foam squares and strips. For finishing touches I just added glossy accents to both reindeer noses.

I appreciate you sharing your time with me. Have a fabulous day!

Holiday Joy

Are you someone that designs holiday cards year round or generally after Halloween?  I make them year round so that I have less on my plate in the last quarter of the year.

Altenew Joy die and Pretty Pink Posh Candy Cane stencil

I adore reds and pink together. This card came together pretty quickly.  Here are the products I'm featuring:

  • Altenew - Joy | die
  • Pretty Pink Posh - Candy Canes | layered stencils
  • Pretty Pink Posh - Eyelet Rectangle | die
  • Altenew - Gilded Glitter | cardstock set

Personalized Birthday Card with Mama Elephant and Pretty Pink Posh

Hi friends! It's Amanda from Twiddler's Nook. Today I'm mixing things up on the Doodlebugs blog birthday style. My daughter turned 17 a couple weeks ago and this was the birthday card I created for her. The fun part is, you can create this same card for any year because of the awesome Mama Elephant Birthday Candles stamp set!

Mama Elephant Birthday Candles

I chose images from Mama Elephant Birthday Candles and Delivery By Truck to stamp and color with my copic markers. Then I used the coordinating dies from both sets to cut them out.

Mama Elephant Birthday Candles

Next, I cut a white panel with the largest Pretty Pink Posh Eyelet Rectangle die and inked it up from the center fading out with Lawn Fawn celery stick ink and a blending brush. Then, I taped the Pretty Pink Posh Starburst stencil to the panel and went over it with the same ink. I didn't want my card front white but I also didn't want it dark to distract from the images either. So I took a Lawn Fawn kiddie pool ink pad and drug it across all four edges to give it a light teal color.

Mama Elephant Birthday Candles

I stamped a sentiment on the lower center of the eyelet panel from Mama Elephant Deliver Lots of Cheer before adding foam tape and popping it up on my card base. Then I added the images with foam squares. For finishing touches I added glossy accents to all the noses and balloons. Then I added stardust Stickles to the banner and stars on the hats.

Mama Elephant Birthday Candles

Most of the time I don't know who is getting my card or when so I leave the inside blank but this time it was very specific so I pulled the cute sloth from Mama Elephant Birthday Candles and stamped him in pizza dough ink, along with a second sentiment from Mama Elephant Mixed Wishes Greetings.

I appreciate you sharing your time with me. Have a fabulous day!

Snow Buddy, Snowman Christmas Cards

Isn't this snowman the cutest?  I love how he's reaching up as if he's so excited it's snowing!  I recently added this adorable die to the shop for the holidays and had to create some fun cards with it.  You may also see him show up on a tag or two in a later blog post.

MFT Stamps Snow Buddy Christmas Cards
This card was fairly easy to create and would probably make a good Christmas card to mass produce.  I created about 10 of them in just a couple of hours.

My first step was to die cut all the pieces.

Then I assembled all the snowmen.  (I did ink blend a small amount of blue ink to one side of the snowman before assembling)

After my snowmen were complete, I created the smaller, stitched panel and die cut the snowflake background for my card base.

I added all the pieces to my card base and added some shimmery embellishments to look like falling snow.

Scallop Congrats

The other day, my friends and I went out to breakfast and then spent the morning at a local Farm Sanctuary.  We all had so much fun. The outing inspired this project:

Lawn Fawn You GOAT This

I needed a congratulations card for someone that I've known since they were born, thirty years ago.  They recently received their PhD in Geology. They were a part of the gathering and yes, there were goats at the Farm Sanctuary.

Lawn Fawn You GOAT This

These projects are a challenge to photograph!

I'm featuring the following products:
  • Lawn Fawn - You Goat This | stamps + lawn cuts
  • Lawn Fawn - Over the Mountain Border | stamps
  • Pretty Pink Posh - Congrats Shadow | dies
  • Pretty Pink Posh - Scallop Box | die

I have acetate sheets in my stash.  I used strips to add the sentiments and to the leaping goat. The Scallop Box easily folds down and can be tucked into an A2 envelope.

Hanging Ornaments Card Duo

Happy Monday friends! This is Amanda from Twiddler's Nook. To mix things up today I'm playing with the new Spellbinders ornament dies - there are a few fun sets depending on your style - and Pretty Pink Posh stencils and dies for the background. And of course I got carried away and made too many ornaments for one card so we've got two, just for fun!

Spellbinders Festive Ornaments Dies By Nichol Spohr

Like I eluded to above, I started these cards by just pulling out the Spellbinders Festive Ornaments dies and started cutting pieces. I wanted to make a million of them all because they're so cute but I focused on my top favorites and cut the pieces for those. I just used cardstock in my stash and actually didn't have a plan for pairing them up at all.

But once they were all glued together, I immediately put these three together and loved the combo! So I pulled out the new Pretty Pink Posh Winter Words stencil and inked green on green cardstock for a subtle background. Then I stamped a sentiment from Spellbinders Santa's Sippin' Sayings and heat embossed it white.

After popping the ornaments up with foam tape I threaded fishing line through them for the look of them hanging but nothing too bold to take away attention from the cute ornaments themselves. I secured the fishing line with washi tape on the back of the panel and then glued it to a card base.

But I still had this adorable light ornament left over and this sentiment in the same stamp set was just calling it's name. So instead of making more for another card in the same design I thought I would let it shine all on its own. I did use the same stencil on this background panel before die cutting it with the largest Pretty Pink Posh Eyelet Rectangle die although my dark red ink isn't quite dark enough for this paper.

I heat embossed my sentiment on the bottom of the panel and popped the ornament up the same as the others. Then I threaded fishing line all the same again and popped the eyelet panel up on a white card base.

Aren't these so fun!?! I can't wait to make more, including the other sets with the critters and characters in them. These would make great tags and ornaments for your tree too! Lots of ideas!!!

I appreciate you sharing your time with me. Have a fabulous day!

Christmas Tree Holiday Cards

I'm putting a Christmas spin on the Pretty Sweet die set from Concord & 9th.  I love how versatile this set is and what cute Christmas trees those ice cream cones make!

Christmas twist with Pretty Sweet die set from Concord and 9th

I cut and assemble several Christmas trees using different types of card stock.

I then cut some banners for my sentiments using the Make it Merry Banners from Spellbinders.  I added everything to some die cut backgrounds to finish the cards.

I hope you're inspired to take a look at your stamps and dies and use them in a way they were not intended.

Clean and Simple, Budget Friendly Cards

I decided to take a break from holiday card making and create some quick and simple cards.  I love how quickly these came together and how cute they turned out.

Mama Elephant Falling Leaves stamp and die set

I started by stamping and coloring the images from Mama Elephant's Falling Leaves stamp set.  I used Copic markers, but any of your favorite coloring mediums will work.

Mama Elephant Falling Leaves stamp and die set

After coloring the images, I created the card bases for these cute critters.  I didn't have much time, so I decided a quick and simple, ink blended background would be perfect.  For two of the critters I created a solid strip at the bottom of my card base.  I taped off about two inches and then blended on a soft sage green ink.

For the that adorable raccoon hanging from the branch, I added a small amount of blue ink in an oval configuration.

I stamped this fun sentiment from Concord & 9th's Happy Thanks stamp set.  I thought it was the perfect sentiment for these cute characters.  They look like they are having so much fun.

I stacked the colored images on two or three layers of additional die cuts I cut from my scraps. Then added them to the card fronts to finished the cards.  I really love how the added dimension looks on such a simple card.

Thankful with a bit of stitching

I'm guessing there are a lot of crafters like me that cannot have too much stitching on dies.  Here's how I was inspired for today:

Pretty Pink Posh Acorn Shaker

I've combined the following products:
  • Concord & 9th - Playful Pumpkins | Stamp + Die
  • Concord & 9th - Stitched Leaves Card Front | Die
  • Pretty Pink Posh - Acorn Shaker | Die
Pretty Pink Posh Acorn Shaker

I was a happy crafter when I combined the Acorn Shaker with the Stitched Leaves Card Front.  Love the look and it coordinates so well together.

Do you send out Fall | Thanksgiving cards? I do, it's sometimes a catch up from Halloween.
