Hot Chocolate and Friends

Yes, hot chocolate is always better when shared with friends.  I found this yummy hot chocolate at Costco this weekend and knew I could make something fun with it.  So, I created a band from some patterned paper, added a border punched edge from some solid cardstock and wrapped it around two packages of hot chocolate.  Then I used the Martha Stewart snowflake punch, Spellbinders Labels 18 die, some ribbon and twine, a button, and a stamp from Inkadinkado to dress it up.  Add one of those beautiful mugs from Mud Pie and you've got the perfect Christmas gift for a friend or secret pal.

Hero Arts and Perfect Pearl Mists

I saw this technique a few months back and thought I'd try it with the Perfect Pearl Mists instead of water.  Here's the results and the instructions to recreate this card.

Supplies used (shown):  Stickles- burgundy, Distress Ink- Crushed Olive and Forest Moss, Perfect Pearls Mist- Perfect Pearl, Hero Arts Cling Stamp- Pinecone Wreath
Additional Supplies Used (Not Shown):  Stickles- stardust, Lifestyle Crafts "JOY" die and silver cardstock for cutting the letters, white cardstock measuring 4"x5.25", burgundy cardstock measuring 8.5"x 5.5" and scored at 4.25" on the 8.5" side,  and burgundy silk ribbon.

"Smoosh" both inks on your non stick craft mat as shown above.

Spray the Perfect Pearls Mist on the ink until it looks similar to the above image.

Tap your stamp a few times onto the ink.

It should look similar to the above image.

Stamp the image onto your white cardstock.  I use a smooth cardstock and apply pressure for just a few seconds longer than when I'm stamping with regular ink.

Assemble your card, add stickles, your die cut "JOY" letters and a bow!

Paper Flower Rosettes

Happy Tuesday everyone.  Look what I learned to make last week at Meg's Big Shot workshop! We made made paper rosettes with scallop circle punches!! I thought these were so cool I came home and made more!  I used my Spellbinders scallop circle die, but you could use any scallop circle to make these. I thought the decorative scallop circles from Spellbinders would look neat as well, but haven't had time to make some.  Here's a great video showing you how to make these and here's a link to Meg's blog with pictures of the cute projects we made at the workshop.

I used the Spellbinders scallop circle die and the pillow box from Sizzix to make this.

New Arrivals

Take a look at the NEW Holiday dies that just arrived from Lifestyle Crafts!  Wow!  I absolutely love the Star and the Tags and can't wait to start playing with them.  I promise to post some samples once I've got them done, and of course, we'll have some great ideas spread around the store.  Mary used the Star die in her demo this weekend on the Perfect Pearls Sprays.  She "pearled" it up and put it on a tag.  It was gorgeous and a must see next time you stop in the store.  For now, I'll leave you with some images from Lifestyle Crafts website.

A quick note...if you're loving the tag or the star, you better get them quick.  I believe those two will sell out first! (and fast)
