Friday with Amy: Enjoy the little things in life | Mama Elephant

Hey everyone, it's Amy and I'm back with a post dedicated to the final day of the Spring | Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!  Doodlebugs is one of the many Super Sponsors!

Don't forget that Doodlebugs is having a sale that runs through tomorrow.  Get 15% off your entire purchase, use code:  COFFEE15

Here's how I was inspired for today's post!  I'm featuring Mama Elephant:

I love how this turned it.  It looks drastically different from how I had it initially set up.

I used the Slim Card Basics in a pebble and white.  Originally the pebble was a coral.

Do you see how I selectively cut my Boba Shaker Combo?  I have it set up so that I can do a whole panel at a time. Initially I cut it up in 5 different colors but ended up going with two colors and an espresso color.

I was going to make the boba drink a different color but I didn't really want to disrupt the overall color palette so just made it white [Milk Tea].

Check out the interior panel before I adhered it to the card base:

I managed to fit the sentiment from Zodiac Mouse on the lavender strip...perfect!

Thanks so much for stopping by and we do hope that you join in the hop fun.  Link up a newly created caffeinated themed project for a chance to win!

Tuesday with Toni: Mama Elephant Zodiac Monkeys

Oh, my goodness!  I just had to play with the Mama Elephant Zodiac Monkeys as soon as I had a moment. They're so flippin' cute!!

My first card pairs the ME Zodiac Monkeys with the Sunny Studio Tropical Scenes border. They're so perfect together!  Those little flowers?  They're from the Mama Elephant Tree Branch Cover die.

For the background, I sponged the MFT Mini Cloud Edges stencil with Distress Oxide Picked Raspberry and Mustard Seed.  The grass is Mowed Lawn, natch.

I colored up the images with Copics, including what has become my favorite combo for animals lately.

My next card evolved while I was Zoom crafting with some locals gals, I mentioned how perfectly sized and shaped the Zodiac Monkeys are for paper-piecing.  I tried out my idea right then and there, using Doodlebug Designs Fairy Tales 6x6 Paper for the monkey mounted on Waffle Flower JJ's Rainbows Paper for the card base.

I turned the monkey into a balloon using the string from the Lawn Fawn Stitched Kite dies. The stamped sentiment as well as the letters are Lawn Fawn as well:  Really High Five, Simple Wavy Banners, and Oliver's Stitched ABCs.

Had you noticed I had used the MFT Mini Cloud Edges to enhance the rainbow paper sky?

I continued the paper-piecing theme on another card using Lawn Fawn Spring Perfectly Plaid 6x6 Paper for the monkeys as well as the card base.  They're so cute in plaid!  I positioned them around the Mama Elephant Big Warm Fuzzy Hugs die. I first cut that from kraft (see below) and then changed it to blue. Ahh, much better.

Whew! What a creative week!  I hope to see you next week.  In the meantime, if you want to check out my other work you can visit my blog, Frankie Helps Craft, my Instagram, or my Pinterest Board.

I love the new Brilliant Butterflies stamp and dies from MFT Stamps and had to find a way to incorporate them into my coffee inspired cards.   I stamped the butterflies in a couple color assortments and then used the Cafe All Day die from MFT Stamps to cut out a few coffee cups.  The straws and cream are cut from white cardstock and the lid from vellum.

I grabbed my Distress Oxide Inks and the Square Extraordinaire stencil to create the blended backgrounds to coordinate with the butterflies.  My favorite paper for blended backgrounds is Bristol cardstock, so that's what I used here.

The sentiments are from a couple different stamp sets (I'll link them at the bottom of the post if you're interested).

Here's my final version using a background die over a blended background.

Lastly, Paulina from Pretty Pink Posh recently recommended this sweet, small candle business, and I had to give her a try.  Desiree sells coffee scented candles, as well as other yummy scents.  She even created a custom scent for me....grapefruit and blood orange. You can follow her on Instagram @sunshineandtimbercandles or visit her etsy shop.  So, I ordered a few coffee candles from her.  I'll be randomly giving away four candles, just because.  No requirements, just (four) random acts of kindness.  I might choose a comment, add one to an order, select an Instagram follower, or someone from our Facebook group.  Who knows.....

Well, hopefully you've made it all the way to the end.  Please be sure to head over to the Coffee Lovers Card Making Blog for all the details on how you can participate.  There are lots of prizes to be won, and lots of coffee inspired projects.

Bonus Day with Toni: Fairy Clouds

As promised, I'm back with another MFT Flower Fairies card!

For this one I used the Pretty Pink Posh Layered Clouds two-part stencil for the background, sponging it with Distess Oxide Picked Raspberry and Shaded Lilac, after masking the MFT Flower Fairies image.

I colored up the fairy with Copics and added Clear Wink of Stella to her wings. What a pretty little one layer card!

Well, I'll see you next week.  If you'd like to check out my other creations in the meantime, you can visit my blog, Frankie Helps Craft, my Instagram, or my Pinterest Board.

Hello from Amy: Birthday Wishes | My Favorite Things

Hey, it's Amy and it's Wednesday!  There's a fun post coming on Friday, so be sure to watch for it!  I'm here sharing a card that features My Favorite Things:

I don't generally gravitate to florals but absolutely love the Flowers in Bloom set.

I started my Bristol base with an anti-static, similar to the Embossing Magic Pad.  I heat embossed the Circle Celebration Background in White.

Using Blending Brushes, I applied the following Distress Oxide colors:

I love Kristina Werner's Distress Oxide color combos.  This one is is combo #6.

I stamped the blooms on Neenah Solar White with Lawn Fawn Jet Black.  My copic colors:

YR0000 | YR00
YG01 | YG03

I used a liquid glue, similar to the Gina K Designs Connect Glue on the stems of the bloom.  I wanted them to stay super flat so that I could layer the Birthday Wishes sentiment that has been die cut in a lighter weight black cardstock.  I used the same liquid glue.

That's it for me!

Tuesday with Toni: Pretty Pink Posh Beautiful Butterflies

I went to town with the Pretty Pink Posh Beautiful Butterflies set this week. That sentiment is just so perfect for not having seen friends in forever and a day.

Let's start with the lower right corner and go clockwise.

For this card I stamped the butterfly on a pale gray cardstock then colored it with Polychromos:  199 black, 161 Phthalo Green, 162 Light Phthalo Green, 276 Chrome Oxide Green Fiery, 107 Cadmium Yellow, 109 Dark Chrome Yellow, 142 Madder, 123 Fuschia, 134 Crimson, 138 Violet, and 137 Blue Violet.

I then diecut the panel using a Pretty Pink Posh Scallop Square Tag. This is mounted on a piece of Avery Elle Spring Collection 6x6 Paper.

For the next card I stamped the sentiment and images using Versafine Onyx Black then watercolored them with Zig 032, 027 and 010.

I added gold stripe washi, a few Doodlebug Design Shape SprinklesClear Wink of Stella, and a few Posca white pigment dots.

The ombre card was SUPER easy to make.  I sponged the card base with Distress Oxide Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, and Candied Apple.  Once that was dry I stamped the PPP Beautiful Butterflies using Versamark then embossed them with Ranger Gold.

I then took a yellow Zig marker and colored the butterflies.  I love the orange and pink ombre effect!

For my final card, I stamped the MFT Fairy Happy floral image and PPP Beautiful Butterfly in Versafine then watercolored it with Zig 010, 023, 031, 041, 043, 050, 052, and 070.

I embossed the MFT More Essential Sentiments white on black and added some strips of washi beneath for glam.

Whew! Thanks for hanging in there and reading about these cards. I enjoyed making them and hope you're inspired to make some of your own.

I'll see you again soon.  In the meantime, if you'd like to check out my other creations, you can visit my blog, Frankie Helps Craft, my Instagram, or my Pinterest Board.

Bonus Day with Toni: MFT Flower Fairies

Hello.  My name is Toni and I'm a sucker for fairies. Whew! That's a load off my chest!  Seriously tho, I really do love fairies and have (or have had) about every fairy set out there, including this MFT Flower Fairies one. Swoon!

I started the card by sponging the card base using the MFT Candy Stripes Stencil with Distress Oxides. The first pass I used Ripe Persimmon then when I rotated the stencil I used a combo of Evergreen Bough and Mustard Seed. Think sun in the corner and sky elsewhere.

Next I added a hill using Lawn Fawn Dandy Day 6x6 Paper and Hillside dies. I added the MFT Heart Tree on top of that. I haven't used that for a while and had forgotten how much I like it.

I stamped the MFT Flower Fairy images and colored them with a pastel range of Copics--so soft and pretty. I nestled the sentiment between the fairies, like it's peeking out at you. So cute!  I think this one will need to go to one of my nieces.

I'll be back on Thursday with another card using the MFT Flower Fairies set--hope to see you then!  In the meantime, if you'd like to check out my other creations, you can visit my blog, Frankie Helps Craft, my Instagram, or my Pinterest Board.
