Unity Stamps- I'll Always Love You

Another snow day project using the fun Itty Bitty Stamps from Unity Stamps.  This one is titled, "I'll Always Love You".   It's an appropriate sentiment for the upcoming holiday (Valentine's Day).  However, I decided to do something a little different with this stamp.  I thought it would make a nice piece of art for a young girl's room.  (You could change up the colors and make it blue or orange for a boy's room)  This would fit perfectly with the woodland animal themes that are so popular right now.

A few weeks ago, I found this wooden frame at Ikea for only a $1.99.  I picked up a few, knowing I'd find something fun to do with them.  It was perfect for this project.  You could easily paint it white or pink if you weren't happy with the black.  I had to settle for black since it was snowing outside when I did this.

Beautiful Peacock from Hero Arts

Being snowed in, gave me lots of extra time to create.  A few weeks ago, I special ordered the Beautiful Peacock stamp set from Hero Arts, for one of our WONDERFUL customers.  I liked it so much, I ordered a few extra for the store.  Last week I was at the Olympic Game farm, here in Sequim,  and had the pleasure of seeing those beautiful peacocks.  So with them in mind, I went to work on this card.

I colored it with Copic markers (my fav) and added some Teal Liquid Pearls from Ranger Ink to the tail feathers.  Here's a close up of those tail feathers.

For those interested in the Copic colors I used, here they are:  BG13, 15, & 49;  YG23 & 63; C0, 2, & 3;  YR20.

And here is my photo of the real thing.

Lifestyle Crafts Embossing Folders

We received several new embossing folders from Lifestyle Crafts around the Holidays last year.   Now that we are done with the Holidays (for now) I've had a chance to play with them.  Here's a quick and easy card I created using the Floral Embossing folder from Lifestyle Crafts.  I really like the roses and have used them on several projects.

The patterned paper is from Basic Grey's Kissing Booth collection.  I thought the small roses on the paper were a nice compliment to the embossed roses on the cardstock.  I used Tuskineko's Brilliance Orchid ink to add a bit of shimmer to the roses.  I applied it with an Ink Blending Tool from Ranger.  The border punch in from Martha Stewart Crafts.

Here's a close up of the roses.  The shimmer is hard to see, but trust me, it's there.

Mini Basket Tutorial

Last month we featured this basket as one of our Art Bar projects.  We've had so many people inquire about this basket we wanted to pass along the tutorial that inspired it.  The original tutorial was found over at The Little Blue Room.  She has an amazing, step by step tutorial for making these adorable things.  We used the "Branch with Leaves and Flower" die from Sizzix to dress up our basket.

These would be cute filled with Valentine candy and dressed up with a cute heart tag or punch.  Have fun!
