Tuesday with Toni: Waffle Flower Rejoice Rabbit

Hello, everyone. I hope you're holding up as well as you can during this difficult time. I know my usual routine is completely thrown off by everything going on but I'm still taking enjoyment in crafting, which has been a mental lifesaver.

Today's cards use the Waffle Flower Rejoice Rabbit set.  It's an Easter set but can be used for other things as well like I did here.

My first card is really simple with the main image stamped in Versafine Onyx Black then colored with Zig Real Brush Watercolor Markers. I stamped the sentiment in Versafine too.

For the second card I watercolored it as well but then placed it on top of a panel diecut from Lawn Fawn Dandy Day 6x6 paper and the Sunny Studio Eyelet Lace Frilly Frame.  So so sweet!

I'll see you next week!  If you'd like to check out my other creations, you can visit my blog, Frankie Helps Craft, my Instagram, or my Pinterest Board

Friday with Amy: Dandy Day | Lawn Fawn

Hello and Happy Friday!  It's Amy here with a fun card featuring Lawn Fawn:

I'm new to the Huggers and dang, I've been missing out on some serious cuteness!  That Spring Critter - Duck is way too cute.  My boy was particularly attached to a stuffed duck when he was younger.  We ended up with various sizes of the same looking duck, I'm pretty sure they're still in his closet even though he lives in New York now.

Do you see what I did?!  YES, a Starbucks card fits perfectly into her hug.  I was all smiles when I figured that out.

I've been smitten with the Backdrop Meadow!  Love it for the versatility.  It's so fun to tuck things into the grassy slopes.

The heart is from Swan Soiree.

The speech Bubble and various bugs are from A Bug Deal.

The mice and sentiment are from Dandy Day.  The sentiment, which is also from Dandy Day has been stamped on a Simple Wavy Banner.

The copic colors I used:

R20 | R21 | R22
YG23 | YG25
E42 | E43
C0 | C2 | C3
T4

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Tuesday with Toni: Mama Elephant Zodiac Snake

Hello, everyone! Today I'm sharing two cards using the sssssuper fun Mama Elephant Zodiac Snake set. Who knew snakes could be cute!!!!

I started the first card by using both of the Pretty Pink Posh Layered Hearts Stencils with Distress Oxide Peacock Feathers, Worn Lipstick and Mustard Seed. Such a happy background!

I stamped the Mama Elephant Zodiac Snake sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black onto a Lawn Fawn Wavy Banner which I then adhered on top of a strip of Sunny Studio Subtle Grey Tones 6x6 paper.

I watercolored the snakes using Zigs. The bold bubble sentiments are from the Mama Elephant Stackable Cuties set, again using Versafine Onyx Black.

A few Pretty Pink Posh clear sequins and Doodlebug Design Tiny Heart Sprinkles completed the design.

For my second card I used a sprinkle of Lindy's Magicals (shimmer watercolor powder) and spritzed lightly with water. Once dry I stamped the Mama Elephant Zodiac Snake sentiment (notice I added the sssss's to the beginning too!) with Versafine Onyx Black.

The HUGSSS comes from the Mama Elephant Tri-Window Cover die.  Just so cute!!!!

I hope you have a great rest of your week!

Friday with Amy: Caticorn Trio | My Favorite Things

Yay!  We made it another week!  Happy Friday!  I'm so excited to share a card trio featuring My Favorite Things:

Spring Whimsy 6x6 Paper Pad

The Caticorn set is so much fun!

I chat about the card designs on my personal blog.  The paper is all from the new Spring Whimsy 6x6 Paper Pad.  Aren't the prints so sweet?

Let's talk about the Be Happy card.  The sentiment is from the Happy Hippos set.  Do you see the Grassy Edges stencil that I inked up with Distress Oxide - Mowed Lawn?  The Caticorn has been adhered with foam adhesive.

My next one, Straight Up Magic features the Sunrise Radiating Rays stencil with Scattered Straw Distress Oxide.  The sentiment is from the Unicorns and Glitter Stamp set.

My final card includes the Cloud stencil  in Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide.  The sentiment is from the Caticorn set.

These are the copics I used:

YR01 | YR02
Y11 | Y19

I'm so happy to have this card trio in my stash.  I know so many cat people!

Tuesday with Toni: MFT Fantasy Florals

Hello, everyone!  I've had this MFT Fantasy Florals set for a bit and finally took some time to play with it.

I stamped the image using Memento Toffee Crunch as I wanted the flowers to be part of the background versus all those black lines pulling it toward the eye. The MFT Essential Sentiment stamped in Versafine Onyx Black is pushed to the front of the card this way.

I used Polychromos 108, 113, 119, 125, 128, 134, 136, 155, 160, 165, 167, 170, 174, and 199 here. I can tell these will be popular colors for me. And, again, I have to reiterate how much I am loving the Polychromos--like buttah!

As I was coloring in the presence of some of my crafty friends, we started talking about how we preferred to blend colored pencils.
  • I generally just let the pencils do the blending for me; I don't bother overly much with smooth lines (tho I have on some pieces).
  • Some of my gal pals use Gamsol. BTW, I have an empty Copic marker that I picked up specifically to load with Gamsol--works like a dream and so easy to transport.
  • Some have used a blending pencil.
For this card I burnished then used Gamsol.  Take a look at the pic above (pre-Gamsol) and the one at the top of this post (post-Gamsol). Wow, right?

Btw, Gamsol is odorless mineral spirits; you can find generics of it at your local hardware store.

As a final step--well penultimate, I used Zig 092 to create a bit of shadow behind the bouquet. Voila!

Have a great rest of your week!   In the meantime, if you'd like to check out my other creations, you can visit my blog, Frankie Helps Craft, my Instagram, or my Pinterest Board.

Tuesday with Toni: LF Speech Bubble Backdrop

Hello, friends! I have two cards today. I love being able to use my leftovers immediately, don't you? Let me show you what I mean.

I had the idea of use the Lawn Fawn Speech Bubble Backdrop as a stencil. I cut it out of Sno Cone cardstock and used it to sponge the card base with MFT Sno Cone Ink and MFT Lemon Drop Ink
with Picket Fence Studios Blender Brushes.

I stamped the background with a few sentiments from the MFT Birthday Bear set using Versafine Onyx Black.

I stamped the MFT Beary Special Birthday image and colored it with Copics.  I then adhered him to the card base with Scotch Foam Tape.

I was all ready to stop there when I noticed how pretty the sponged Lawn Fawn Speech Bubble Backdrop die cut had turned out.  I couldn't just toss that away!

Instead I glued the diecut to a card base using Gina K Connect Glue.

I then stamped a bunch of the Mama Elephant Big News sentiments using Versamark.  I embossed them with Ranger Gold Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder

I stamped out a couple of the Mama Elephant Big News images and colored them with Copics. I adhered them to the card front using  Gina K Connect Glue for the elephant and Scotch Foam Tape for the bunny.

Didn't that turn out fab?  And to think I was going to throw away that die cut!

Friday with Amy: Happy Birthday | Mama Elephant

Hey Hey, Happy Friday!  It's Amy here and I'm back sharing another card that features Mama Elephant:

Do you remember THIS card that I shared a couple weeks ago?  I went ahead and whipped up another card since I had the supplies out but added the very fun Big Happy Birthday creative cuts to his design.

I love those cute images from the Pinata Party set, don't you?  I decided to do a yellow + lavender color palette.  These are the copics I used:

Y06 | Y08
V01 | V12
E00 | E01

I'm on a mission to make a handful of birthday cards for all the March birthdays at work.  That mole is adorable, don't you think so?

I used the same paper pad as last time too, Avery Elle Spring Collection 6x6.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Tuesday with Toni: So Fairy Happy

Hello, my lovelies!  Today I have 2 cards for you using the Avery Elle Fairy Happy set. I was so excited that AE had come out with cute fairies as I LOVE fairies!

My first card involved embossing the flowers onto a pink ombre background sponged with Distress Oxide Spun Sugar.  I then used the Sunny Studio Eyelet Lace Frilly Frame to die cut the card front.

I then stamped and watercolored the fairies using Zig Real Brush Markers.  Notice how I popped up the bottom fairy with foam tape and curved the wings of the other fairies?  You can see the Clear Wink of Stella a bit too. Swoon!

My second card uses Clear Wink of Stella on the wings as well.  This card is simpler than the other in that it's directly stamped onto the card and watercolored.

I dressed it up a bit using a Lawn Fawn Simple Grassy Hillside die to cut the new Avery Elle Spring Collection 6x6 paper. I stamped the sentiment onto a Lawn Fawn banner using my beloved Versafine Onyx Black.

That's it for me today.  Hope you have a fairy happy rest of your week!
