I'm always looking for a creative way to give a gift card. They often seem so impersonal. So, I like to make it a bit more personal with a creative enclosure. I decided to play around with the fun Gift Card Bag die from Pretty Pink Posh and this is what I came up with.
I used the Butterfly Shaker from Pretty Pink Posh to decorate the bags. I created a shaker butterfly and a non shaker butterfly. Which one is your favorite?
First I assembled the gift card bags. They were quick and easy. I cut two of the bag dies (one for the front of the bag and one for the back). Stamp any images or messages before you assemble and then glue the front and back together.
Cut a piece of cardstock measuring 2.75 inches x 4.5 inches. This will be the insert that will slide your gift card up and out of the bag. After cutting the insert, create a score line and fold up at .75 inches from the bottom (see the image above). This flap will pull the gift card out of the bag when the recipient pulls up on the insert.
I decorated the insert pieces for the butterfly wings with small flower dies I had in my stash. Then I stacked up the outside frame on the butterflies. I left one as is, adding a colored frame and the butterfly body . The other I filled with some confetti, covered with acetate, then added the final frame and butterfly body.
I can't wait to make more of these for birthdays, holidays, and just because. Wouldn't that cute Ghost Shaker from Pretty Pink Posh be perfect for Halloween?
Thanks for stopping by the blog. I hope you were inspired.
