Distress Paint and Canning Jars

I keep seeing these cool jars on Pinterest.  So, of course, I had to give it a try.  I love them, filled with succulents.  However, they would be great filled with pens, markers, and paint brushes in your craft space.  Or, fill them with wildflowers!

My first choice for paint, was the Tim Holtz Distress Paints.  They are similar to milk piant, adhere to almost anything, dry smooth (no brush marks) and have a matte or flat finish.  I gave the jars a quick coat of gesso and let them dry.   I then covered them with two coats of the Distress Paint.  Once they were dry, I gently sanded them with a sanding block.  Super easy and they make GREAT gifts!
