Occasionally my daughter and I will meet up for lunch in Seattle at a food truck.  They're quite popular in the area that we both work in.  I've been missing Boba Tea lately so I knew I wanted to combine these sets together.

Bonus Day with Toni: Sunny Studio Sea You Soon

Well, I surprised myself this week and managed another card, this time using the new Sunny Studio Sea You Soon and Tropical Scenes sets paired with the older SS Best Fishes set!

I blended the background using Distress Oxides and a Honey Bee blender brush. You can see that I spattered the blues with water as well as added some embossed bubbles.

I colored up the Sunny Studio images using Copics.  Notice the seaweed behind the [underwater] Tropical Scene; those I stamped with Versafine Onyx Black and colored with yellow Zig 050, carefully so the non-watercolor paper wouldn't pill.

Positioning all the colored images was so fun! What a cute little scene . . . from within my shark cage, thank you very much.  LOL.

Tuesday with Toni: Tim Holtz Florals

How are you today, DB fans?  I have a trio of cards for you using the Tim Holtz Flower Shop and the Layering Stencil Bouquet.  They all turned out quite different but used similar techniques.

With the first card I sponged Distress Oxide Mustard Seed onto the card front then Distress Oxide Evergreen Bough and Mowed Lawn through the Layering Stencil Bouquet.  I used my MISTI to stamp the Flower Shop image  a few times with Versafine Onyx Black.

I used Distress Oxide Wilted Violet to stamp the text with the main sentiment (MFT Essential Sentiments) embossed.

With this card I experimented with the stenciled background, using the MFT Small Brick and Mini Cloud Edges to create a soft blended look.  Aren't the bricks giving way to clouds a cool effect?

I stamped the Tim Holtz Flower Shop image using Distress Oxide Vintage Photo. I stamped the background text with Distress Oxide Ripe Persimmon.

On the last card I used a variety of Adirondack Alcohol Inks on the Yupo card front then stenciled the Layering Stencil Bouquet using gold embossing paste.  Isn't that gorgeous?  I love the gold on that bright, colorful background.

I used the Pretty Pink Posh Hummingbird Thanks set with an embossed MFT Essential Sentiment.

Here's how I was inspired:

I used some Lawn Fawn Scallop Squares for the base that aren't available in the shop, you could just measure out cardstock to 4 or 4.25 inch square so that it postal friendly.  My overall card is 4.5 x4.5

The white panel are cut from Bristol.  The purple and black cardstock are from my stash.

Oh my goodness, the Fortune Teller Tabby is so cute, isn't she?  I don't know why I waited so long to ink her up.  She's been stamped in Versafine Onyx.  The image has been colored with Zig Clean Color Markers:

Zig:  Clean Color Real Brush Marker - Yellow

The background is a mix of the following Distress Oxides using the smooshing technique:

Wilted Violet | Hickory Smoke | Black Soot

I loaded up my glass mat with the each color inked up separately with a spritz of water.  I 'smooshed' my panel into the puddles and used a tissue to sop up the extra and then used my heat gun on the panel in between each other application.

I heat embossed the sentiment in white on black cardstock.  I used the Reveal Wheel Square add-on Wheel Lawn Cuts to cut it and then trimmed it down to the size I wanted.  Each of the sentiments have been stamped on the wheel in Lawn Fawn Jet Black.  I used the small Detail Blender Brush to ink up the circle with the coordinating purple ink while the template was still on top of it.  It worked as a stencil.  It's not really noticeable but in real life it's a nice touch.

This is a birthday card for someone turning 30 that is a Vet Tech and Cat Lover.
