You're Unforgettable

Here's our first Valentine Card for the kiddos at Seattle's Children's Hospital.  If you're not familiar with our Challenge, you can find all the details HERE.  We used the Adorable Elephant set from MFT Stamps and the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to color the images.  These markers are super easy to use, and make the coloring process quick and easy.  We finally have most of them back in stock in our Sequim, WA location and our online store.

To quickly color the image, use the marker to add color directly to the paper where the darkest (shadow areas) color should be.  Then, with a damp brush, wet the color that you applied, and pull it out, covering the remaining areas of the image. 

These were so quick and easy to make, I created four versions of the same card.

The scallop and stitched pieces were cut using Blue Prints #20 Die-namics from MFT Stamps.

Welcome 2016!

I can't believe 2016 is just a few days away!  We've been busy behind the scenes getting things ready for 2016, and everything that a new year brings.

We're preparing for new classes and our Spring Workshop and hope to bring you all the details later this week.  Today, we'd like to introduce you to our NEW Monthly Challenge for 2016.   We had fun in 2015 with our monthly challenges over at our Facebook, Creative Community Group and have decided to continue the challenges this year, with a new twist.

We were inspired in November by Jennifer McGuire's wonderful Share Handmade Kindness campaign.  We loved it so much, we want to Share Handmade Kindness all year long.  So, each month, we'll be challenging you to create cards to share with others.  We'll choose a cause, or group of people as our challenge.  You (along with us) can create hand-made cards based on the challenge.  We'll collect them, and deliver them to the recipients.  Of course, we'll have prizes and giveaways too.  You don't need to be a member of our Facebook Community to participate.  If you are a member, we encourage you to share images of your cards before sending them off to us.  If you're not, you can share them on Instagram using #doodlebugswa.  Or, they don't need to be share at all.  Just delivered to us in time for us to deliver them to our recipients.


Here's what you need to know:

• Cards will be collected at our Brick and Mortar store.  You can drop them off, or send them to Doodlebugs-  138 W. Washington Street, Sequim, WA  98382.  They need to be received by the close of business, the last day of each month.
• Cards should include an UNSEALED envelope.  
• Please include your name and email address on a separate piece of paper if you'd like to be included in our random drawing for a monthly prize package (each card submitted = 1 entry) Winner will be announced and notified during the first week of the following month.
• To encourage you to share your beautiful cards, occasionally, we'll give away additional goodies by randomly selecting someone from the posts in our Facebook Creative Community or our Instagram #doodlebugswa.
• Each month we'll post the challenge, along with any additional details that may be required from the recipients.

So, I hope I've covered everything.


We've chosen Children's Hospital of Seattle for our January Challenge.  We'll be collecting Valentine Cards during the month of January, to deliver to the kiddos at Children's Hospital of Seattle for Valentine's Day.

At the end of the month, we'll randomly select a winner, from the cards that were submitted, to receive our Fancy Friend Kit.  Take a better look at the kit HERE.

Avery Elle - Hogs and Kisses

We're still making cute envelopes with the new Envie Die from Avery Elle.  This time we dressed it up with the Hogs and Kisses stamp set, also, from Avery Elle.

The image is colored with Copic Markers.

The shimmer from the Wink of Stella pen adds a nice touch to the heart.

Adorable Elephants from MFT Stamps

The new Adorable Elephants from MFT Stamps is such a cute set.  It's perfect for birthdays, baby, spring, and more.

I used the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to watercolor the elephant and the balloons.

 The front of the card was cut with the largest Stitched Mini Scallop Square STAX from MFT.  I added a folded note (cut slightly smaller) to the back of the scallop piece to create the card.

I added some sequins from Pretty Pink Posh to make it a bit more "festive".

We're using this set for our February Card Club....details coming soon.  In the meantime, here's a peek at the card we'll be making in February.

Holiday Schedule

The not so good news....we have decided to close (just for the Holidays) our physical store, in Sequim, WA,  between Christmas and New Year's Day.  We work hard all year and would like to enjoy the Holidays and spend time with our families and friends.  Our online store will still be shipping orders, during that time.  However, there will not be any in store pick-up available until we return on January 2nd.  So, we will be closed December 24, 2015 through January 1, 2016.  We look forward to seeing you all in January, when you return to spend your Doodle Bucks!!  Our online store will not be shipping orders, or responding to emails on December 24th, 25th, or 26th or December 31st or January 1st.

Whale Hello from AVery Elle

The Whale Hello stamp set from Avery Elle is super fun and can be used for a number of occasions.  Love the cute play on the word Whale....whale you be my Valentine, whale always love you, and whale done along with a few others.

Here's a card we created using the set.

The pierced circle is stamped with Distress Ink.  After inking up the Wave Background stamp (from MFT Stamps), we misted it with some water before applying it to the paper to get that "watery" effect.  It's hard to see in the images, but we used the Grout Grey ink from MFT Stamps to stamp the same wave pattern on the background of the white card.  The whale was colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.

We embellished it with some Pretty Pink Posh sequins.

Paper Smooches - Boom Bots

Lovin' these cuties from the Boom Bots stamp set from Paper Smooches.  We paired them with the Envie Elle-ments die from Avery Elle for some cute envelope enclosures.  They are perfect for gift cards or mini gift enclosures.

After coloring them with Copic Markers, we added some clear Wink of Stella.  Can you see the shimmer?  Love that pen!!

Tell Your Story Bundle
