Weekend Inspiration- Watercolor with Gansai Tambi Paints

The watercolor trend in scrapbooking and cardmaking has been popular for quite some time now and doesn't seem to be going away.  Since it is so popular, we decided we should carry a good quality, cake watercolor set.  So, a few month ago, we tried several brands of watercolors.  We found the one we LOVE, and so did everyone else.  It's been hard to get consistently and keep in stock.  So, we haven't featured it on our blog.

We finally received quite a few sets, and have several more that should be shipping soon.  So, we decided to feature it today as our Weekend Inspiration.

Here's a look at the set of 24.

The colors are intense and amazing.  They are super creamy, and wonderful for brush calligraphy.

Here are a few cards showing how vivid the colors are.

Here they are on one of the new Just Add Watercolor canvas boards.

If you've been looking for a good quality set.  This is it.  As I mentioned earlier, they sell quickly and are hard to get.  So, don't think about it too long.

  1. How did you keep all the colors "inside the lines" on the butterfly?

    1. I here's how I painted the butterfly: I used the negative space that is left after cutting a butterfly from cardstock with a die. I used it like a stencil. I placed it on the paper, and used a wet brush to wet the paper in the shape of the butterfly. It's called a wet on wet technique. Once you add the watercolor, it will only flow to the wet areas of the paper.
