Tim Holtz Christmas Stamps

Today we thought we'd feature a couple of cards using a Tim Holtz stamp set, Distress Ink, and some embossing powders.

Ryan embossed the sleigh image and sentiment with white embossing powder onto the front of the card.  After he heat embossed the image, he applied Tim Holtz Distress Inks to the background.  The embossed image will resist the ink.  Once the background was covered with ink, he misted it with water, giving it that "speckled" look.  Finishing touches were applied using the snow marker.  Draw on the snow with the marker, heat with the heat tool, and, like magic, you have snow!

Emily used similar techniques to create her card.  She embossed the snowflakes with white embossing powder onto the background.  She then embossed Santa with black embossing powder and applied Tim Holtz Distress Inks to the background.  As with the card above, the embossed areas resist the ink.

The sentiment and wreath are stamped and embossed onto a piece of cardstock cut with the Spellbinders dies.

Like this look?  Stop in and ask Ryan or Emily for a demonstration.
