Tim Holtz Christmas Stamps
Today we thought we'd feature a couple of cards using a Tim Holtz stamp set, Distress Ink, and some embossing powders.
Ryan embossed the sleigh image and sentiment with white embossing powder onto the front of the card. After he heat embossed the image, he applied Tim Holtz Distress Inks to the background. The embossed image will resist the ink. Once the background was covered with ink, he misted it with water, giving it that "speckled" look. Finishing touches were applied using the snow marker. Draw on the snow with the marker, heat with the heat tool, and, like magic, you have snow!

Emily used similar techniques to create her card. She embossed the snowflakes with white embossing powder onto the background. She then embossed Santa with black embossing powder and applied Tim Holtz Distress Inks to the background. As with the card above, the embossed areas resist the ink.
The sentiment and wreath are stamped and embossed onto a piece of cardstock cut with the Spellbinders dies.
Like this look? Stop in and ask Ryan or Emily for a demonstration.

Art Journal Inspiration- Inktense Pencils
It's time for some art journal inspiration. Grab your supplies and go play!
I used Inktense pencils to paint, and my Uniball Gel pen (black and white) for the doodling. Pumpkins seemed appropriate with Thanksgiving just around the corner.
Here's an close up look. Don't mind the smudges to the left. There was some "leftover" paint on the page.

Thought I'd share a few more images of the fun projects we created last weekend during our Holiday Workshop. Hope you enjoy them!
We used a "kissing" technique to create the pattern on the leaves for this card.
This time we used Gold Glitter embossing powder on the leaves.

Project Life Thursday
This week I thought I'd share a page I completed using photos from my niece's graduation this past June. It's hard for me to believe she's graduated from High School and off to college. My, how time flies!
Love the "then and now" photos. Wish I had a photo from her first day of kindergarten. The "&" is a wood veneer from Studio Calico, the letters from Simple Stories SN@P collection.
I framed this photo using the Insert It Insta Frame Die-namics die from MFT Stamps. The graduation cap is a Jolee's embellishment from EK Success.
I used the numbers stamp and die set from Paper Smooches to create the 2013. The letters are from Basic Grey. They are sitting on top of some metallic gold washi tape.
Finally, I love to include screen shots of the weather. This one is especially memorable. The day of graduation the temperature was 102 degrees. The following day, the day of our lakeside picnic, it was 106 degrees. Unbearable for those of us visiting from the Pacific Northwest!

Here's one of the treat boxes we made. We used the Scallop Treat Box die from My Favorite Things as well as the Resting Birds die from Memory Box. The stamps are from Technique Tuesdays / Ali Edwards "Jingle all the Way" set. I love this set!!
Here's the box filled with some Holiday chocolate squares.
It's also perfect for holding a set of tags.
Here's another cute project we made using the Basket die from Sizzix and the Bow die from My Favorite Things.
We'll be skipping our Project Life Thursday post, so we can show you more Holiday "goodness" from our workshop last weekend. You'll love the cards we made!!
