Friday with Amy: Mama Elephant | Enjoy the Little Things

Hey Doodlebug Fans!  It's Amy here and I'm back sharing a couple projects.  Today I'm featuring:

Mama Elephant Zodiac Mouse
Honey Bee Stamps Holiday Traditions 6x6 Paper Pad

Here's a peek at my projects:

Let's start with the Gingham design first.  The paper is from the Honey Bee Stamps' Holiday Traditions 6x6 paper pad.  The cute Mama Elephant Zodiac Mouse set is adorable.  Love those guys.

I stamped all the main mice out and picked 4 different accessories to go with them.  Do you see what the coordinating Creative Cuts can do?  They can cut out their hand [or is it paw] so that they can 'carry' their items.

The copics I used on this card are:

Y15 | Y35
E0000 | E000
C0 | C2
E31 | E33

Up next is the peppermint mocha drinking mouse!

The pattern paper is from the same Honey Bee Holiday Traditions 6x6 Paper Pad.  I also used the My Favorite Things Square Peek-A-Boo Window Die-namics.

How cute is that guy carrying his peppermint mocha?

The Copics I used for this card:

R17 | R37
E0000 | E000
C0 | C2
E31 | E33

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Bonus Day with Toni: Avery Elle Holiday Skates

Hello, Doodlebugs fans!  I think this card is so classically Christmas thanks to the Avery Elle Holiday Skates.

I stamped the images with a Copic-friendly ink and used the coordinating Avery Elle Holiday Skates dies to cut them out. I love how the dies cut out the slots between the shoe and the skate.

I colored up the images with Copics. I wish everything were this quick to color!  You can see the shimmer of the Zig Wink of Stella Clear pretty well in the pic below.  You can see the bit of snow on the die cut sentiment too.  I did that by applying a bit of Zig 2-Way Glue Pen and sprinkling on Doodlebug Design clear glitter. It dries really quickly.

The card base consists of Avery Elle Holiday Collection 6x6 Paper with the Avery Elle Oval Burst die cut on top. I like the built-in focal point. You end up with an oval and rectangle of the paper left--you know I'll use those in a future card.

I popped up the top skate with Scotch Foam Tape.  Oh, I added a bit of snow to the die cut sentiment by applying a bit of Zig 2-Way Glue Pen and sprinkling on Doodlebug Design clear glitter.

Tuesday with Toni: MFT Cozy Companions

Oh, my, I will admit this card turned into two cards all because of you! My first card involved drawing in a background then it occurred to me you might want to see how a simpler version looked. Let's get started with the simpler card, shall we?

Both cards involved stamping and masking the MFT Cozy Companions set onto Strathmore Bristol Smooth using Versafine Onyx Black. Oh, but look, I had smudgy fingers--what a surprise . . . not!

I didn't start over but instead used a Tombow Mono Sand Eraser to gently scrub the smudge away.  Gently is the key word here. You can always erase a little more. And now you can't see the mark any more on the card. Woo hoo!

I used Zig 096, 072, 065, 092, 044, 029, 060, 010, 050, 052 on this card. I used lots of blue-gray (092) for the background and general shadows.

I added Enamel Accents to the MFT Merry Wishes trees on the mantel, figuring this card works for either a holiday or winter card.

For the other card, you can see exactly when it occurred to me to show my process of drawing in the background.  Ha!  I added planks using a ruler and a Copic Multiliner. I randomly added the lines and specks. I water colored the wall and fox then decided to add a rug.

I used Zig 060, 260, 901, 900, 044, 050, 052, 096, 065, 075, 010, 072, and 092. Lots of warm browns on this one.  And LOTS of shadow. I went back numerous times to add additional shadow layers--totally worth the time.

Notice I added lines to the rug, ala braided rug, trying to mimic Stacey Yacula's choppy line style. I did this right before coloring it, hoping the lines would help hide that the rug isn't quite at the right perspective. Yup!

Now check this out.  That sentiment? That's the second one. The first I had embossed in the same area in white but hated it.  I used my magical Tombow Mono Sand Eraser to scrub away the embossed lines then stamped right over it with the same sentiment and Versafine Onyx Black.

You can also see where my initial stamping of the Versafine was perfect but then my smudgy fingers came into play.  Tombow Mono Sand Eraser to the rescue again. You can still see some of the remaining smudge on "Have a J" but far better than it was.

I love how well the cabin card turned out I will be framing it and hanging it for Christmases to come. Wait! With that sentiment I could leave it up for another month or two after that. Sweet!

Friday with Amy: Honey Bee Stamps | Fall

Hey everyone, happy Friday!  It's Amy and I'm wondering if anyone else recovering from food overload?  Honestly I was thinking of pumpkin pie when I was coloring my card today that features Honey Bee Stamps:

I had so much fun planning out my card for today.  Thank goodness for my MISTI's.  I prefer my MINI but will hop over to my regular one when I need the extra wiggle room, like I did for today's design.  I randomly stamped the images from the Pumpkin Patch stamp set with Gina K Designs' Amalgam Jet Black Ink.

I was going to keep my overall palette in reds, orange, yellow but I decided to add a bit of green, my favorite color.  I used the following copics:

R17 | R27
YR07 | YR09
YR04 | YR12
G43 | G82
E41 | E43

I colored the background with my E41 + E43.  I don't generally do that but the white was just too bright and I wanted to warm up the design a bit.

Isn't the Fall Honey Cuts so fun?  I love that it is a layering die with detail work.

My card was inspired by the Stamp Ink Paper Challenge:
