Tuesday with Toni: Doodlebug Design Candy Carnival

Hello, everyone!  I have been working on Halloween cards lately and enjoying every minute of it. Talk about releasing my inner child. :)

This card features a backdrop of Doodlebug Design Candy Carnival 6x6 Paper. The paper is so fun and colorful--perfect for Halloween, a party, or what have you.

I stamped the MFT SY Spooktacular Friends trees with Versafine Onyx Black then mounted the candy strip on Scotch Foam Tape and placed a strip of Doodlebug washi as well as the Lawn Fawn Spooky Fence beneath it.

The MFT SY Spooktacular Friends are stamped in a Copic-friendly ink and colored with Copics to match the paper. They are adhered with Gina K Connect Glue.

Final steps included stamping the MFT SY Spooktacular Friends sentiment with Versamark, embossing it with Ranger White Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder, and cutting it out with an MFT Skinny Strip.  It's adhered to the card front with 1/8" Scor-Tape.

I then added a few Doodlebug Design Halloween Night Shape Sprinkles. I love the dimension, don't you?

Now check back every Tuesday and Thursday for the next couple of weeks for more Halloween inspiration!

Friday with Amy: MFT Stamps | Sending Sweet Celebration Wishes

Happy Friday to you!  It's Amy here with a card duo featuring My Favorite Things:

Since I stamped out all the major images from the Sending Sweet Celebration Wishes set, I was able to design two separate cards.

First up is the Wish card:

I'm a huge fan of using word dies directly on a panel.  That way I don't have to worry if the sentiment is lined up.  Originally I wasn't going to back the WISH sentiment with any cardstock and let the lavender cardstock show through.  I couldn't resist the opportunity to add gold glitter cardstock.

I used the same overall copic colors for the images:

Penguin
NO | N2
R21 | R22
BV00 | BV11

Turtle
G000 | YG41
BG10 | BG11

Cake
R21 | R22
BV00 | BV11

Next up is Birthday Wishes:

I'm a fan of Kristina Werner's Distress Oxides Combos.  What do you think of this trio?

I love it!  I spattered it with white paint from my Kuretake Gansai Tambi set.

Isn't the sentiment beautiful?  The My Favorite Things Birthday Wishes Die-namic is so pretty!  It's been cut with Neenah 110 and adhered with Lawn Fawn's Glue Tube.

The copics I used for this project:

Fox
YR00 | YR00
R21 | R22
BV00 | BV11

Rabbit
W0 | W3
R21 | R22
BV00 | BV11

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Tuesday with Toni - Altenew Forever in Love

This is a banner year for me--I actually remembered our anniversary ahead of time AND did something about it.  Yay, me!

I stamped the Altenew Forever in Love image onto Strathmore Bristol Smooth Paper using Versafine Onyx Black.

I hadn't played with my Zig Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolors in a coon's age so I used those along with a Zig Watercolor H2O Detail Brush.  I used colors #36, #33, #53, and #10.

I had recently used Prismacolor colored pencils with Copics so thought I would use them with watercolors and see what happened. Umm, wow. I love the added texture (both visual and tactile).

The pencils allowed me to add lots of depth to the blooms without muddy watercolors. Swoon! I can only imagine how fantastic using Derwent Inktense pencils would be.

As you can see, I used the pencils for the background as well.

For the sentiment, I die cut the white panel using Avery Elle Dotted Borders. After stamping the Altenew Forever in Love sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black, I decided the panel needed a little pizzaz so I added a strip of Altenew Golden Trim Washi along the bottom.  Insert dreamy sigh.
