Make a Wish from MFT Stamps
We're making wishes today!
We stamped the candles, flames and hearts using the MISTI and Make a Wish stamp set from MFT Stamps. Then, we stamped them again using VersaMark ink. The candles and hearts were heat embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. We used Holographic Embossing Powder for the flames.
We had so much fun with this set, we couldn't stop at one card. We hope to share the rest of them soon!

Classes and Events Schedule
Hello everyone!
We've added a few creative events to our calendar and wanted to get you an update.
DISTRESS INK DEMONSTRATION
Mary will be demonstrating Distress Inks on April 22nd. We hope you'll be able to stop in for the fun.
JUNE CARD CLUB
We will not be scheduling a May Card Club. The Irrigation Festival activities during May make it difficult to schedule classes and events. (NOTE: We are closed for the parade on May 13th)
Here are the details for June:
PAPER PAINTING RETREAT
We also wanted to share with you the details for an Art Retreat we discovered. Doodlebugs is not sponsoring the event. It is sponsored by and held at the amazing and beautiful Dungeness Barnhouse Bed and Breakfast. However, Mary and Cathy will be attending as students! Yippee! We're so excited to be students and not teachers.
Elizabeth St Hilaire is a published author in addition to having her art published in several books and magazines. She has won numerous awards and travels internationally teaching and sharing her love of art. We were so excited to discover she would be here in September and jumped at the chance to attend this event and learn some fun, new techniques.
If you do choose to attend, Doodlebugs will be stocking most of the supplies needed for this class. Bring proof of registration, and we'll give you a 15% discount on all supplies listed for the class.

Elizabeth St. Hilaire
Sept. 29th – Oct 1st. 2017
Class meets 10am–4pm each day
One-hour lunch included
Overnight accommodations available.
You'll find all the details for the event HERE.

Saturday Demonstration
Mark your calendar! We've had so many questions and interest in this technique, we thought we'd offer it as a Saturday Demonstration. So, this Saturday we'll be demonstrating several ways to create these fun, colorful, embossed backgrounds for your cards.
Here's a look at some of the wonderful cards we've created with these fun backgrounds.
See you on Saturday!

Party Animals from Mama Elephant
Gotta love these little Party Animals from Mama Elephant. We invited the Distress Oxide Inks to the party for a super colorful and festive card!
Here's a close up look at the colorful confetti we created with the Distress Oxide Inks. After flicking the inks onto watercolor paper, we allowed them to dry (or since we're impatient, we used our heat tool). After they were dry, we misted them with water from our spray bottle, just until they began to run.
The birdies are stamped and then cut from watercolor paper, and colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.
We heat embossed "It's Your Birthday" from the Celebrate stamp set (Neat and Tangled) using White Detail Embossing Powder. The inside of the card is stamped with, "Let's Celebrate", also, from the Celebrate stamp set from Neat and Tangled.
Supplies Used:
Party Animals from Mama Elephant
Celebrate from Neat and Tangled
Distress Oxide Inks from Tim Holtz
Watercolor Paper from Strathmore
White Detail Embossing Powder from Ranger
VersaMark Ink
Clean Color Real Brush Markers from Kuretake Zig
Stitched Basic Edge 2 Die from MFT Stamps
Happy Crafting!
