Project Life Tuesday

Sorry I missed our Project Life post last week.  We've been so busy getting ready for our Open House, we have been neglecting our blog and facebook page.  With that behind us, we should get back on schedule with our regular posts.

Liesl used lots of fun product this week, for her Project Life pages.  The patterned papers are one of Maggie Holmes' collections from American Crafts.  She also used the Doily dies from MFT Stamps (personally, one of my favorites).

 

She used the monthly tab again from Studio Calico.

A HUGE thank you, to everyone who turned out for our Open House.  We had so much fun.  Congrats to Casey Thrush.  She won the $200 shopping spree from Lifestyle Crafts.  Also, congrats to Joy Bland. She won the Big Shot Machine with assorted dies.

I had hoped to post more pictures.  However, we got so busy once everyone got inside, we completely forgot to take any.

What's New Wednesday (Open House & New Classes!)

Project Life Tuesday

Love the colors Liesl used this week in her Project Life layout.  Those "yummy" colors are from Heidi Swapp's new paper collection.  The labels are from October Afternoon and coordinate perfectly.  The letters are American Crafts Thickers.

 

More of the wood veneers we saw last week from Studio Calico and labels from October Afternoon.  Both products are located in our Project Life section at the store.

 

Again, I'm loving these colors.  I think I might have to pick up some of that paper for myself.  In this photo you'll see more of the labels from October Afternoon,  letters and words from Simple Stories, and Thickers from American Crafts.

Pretty Poppies

Our "Pretty Poppies" class is full.  However, we still have a few stamp and die sets left.  Pick a set up today and make something creative this weekend.  Here's a little inspiration to get you started.

Last week we put out the NEW Cottage Farms collection from Pink Paislee.  It's beautiful!

I took home the 6x6 paper pad and the package of die cuts and got to work creating.  Here's the finished products.

What's New Wednesday

I can't believe it's Wednesday already!!  It's time for a Doodlebug's update.

Our biggest news this week is the arrival of Ryan and Emily.  They started work last Thursday and have been busy meeting everyone and learning how we "roll" around here.  Please stop in and say hello.  They'd love to meet you!!

We've been busy unpacking new stuff.  Here are some of the highlights.

Simple Stories has released THREE new collections.  I love them all!! 

Pink Paislee has introduced their Cottage Farms collection.  Be sure to visit our blog tomorrow.  I'll be posting some cards I created with this collection.

We sold out of these cute little Pansies in a couple of days.  They're back in stock with a few more new items.

I'm loving these napkins!  They are available in lunch and beverage size.

There seems to be lots of new trends this year.  One I've noticed recently is the speech bubble.  I'm seeing it pop up in numerous collections and lots of creative projects.  Here are a few items we are currently carrying.

Project Life

It's time for another peek at Liesl's Project Life book.

This is a close-up of her February, "photo a day", list.  Great way to use the month tabs from Studio Calico!

Here is her entry for "comfort" and "in my hand".  I really like the little wood veneers from Studio Calico (happy).  You can ink them, spray them, or paint them, and add them to your pages and cards for some great little accents.

What's New Wednesday

I love the NEW journals that arrived in our CR Gibson order.  They are fun, artsy and make great gifts.

If you're a fan of mixed media, you've probably heard of Christy Tomlinson.  We just received several of her new products.  We have rub-ons, stencils, and her new printed coffee filter (tissue) paper.  I can't wait to start playing with these!

May classes are coming soon.  Our Studio is almost complete and we are busy working on classes for May.  (Sorry, our April classes are SOLD OUT)  We will send out an email, and update our website as our class information becomes available.  Want a sneak peek at one of our May classes?   Here's a mixed media canvas we'll be adding to the schedule shortly.  If you've ever wondered  how to use the Gelatos from Faber Castell, this class is for you.  We'll be using them to recreate this canvas I made for my niece.

Project Life

Looking for some Project Life Inspiration?  Here's Liesl's page from late January using My Mind's Eye papers.  I love the colorful weekday cards she used on each page.

The date roller stamps from American Crafts have been very popular.  Not only do they include dates, but they have some great little sayings as well.

Here's a close up of her page title.  She used the DIY alterable Thickers, and colored them with an Orange Marmalade Distress Marker from Tim Holtz.

I like how Liesl used the little, block, letter stickers to highlight her "word of the day".  The letters are positioned over some washi tape and are from the SN@P alphabet sticker pack.  This pack is loaded with lots of letters in many colors.
