What's New @doodlebugs!

We've had lots going on around here.  We're getting ready for our Annual Holiday Workshop, stocking the shelves with new Holiday products, and creating lots of fun projects to display in the store. 

We're also putting together plans for our Small Business Saturday event.  So, mark your calendars, we're holing our event on the Saturday after Thanksgiving NOT Black Friday.

In case you've missed our blog posts or haven't been in for a bit, we thought we better catch you up.

CLASSES
We've finalized our Festive Tag Class.  You'll find the details below:

The class will be offered on December 5th and December 6th, from 11am until 3pm.  The class fee is $40 and includes the Gift Tag Greeting stamp set.  You'll need to bring your basic supply kit and 1/4 inch scor-tape.  We'll be creating 16 to 20 festive tags to include on your Holiday packages.  Don't wait, each class is limited to only 8 people.  Here are a few samples of some of the tags you'll be creating.

This stamp set is yours to keep after class.

We also have a few spots left in our November Card Club.  You'll find the details below:

Card Club will be offered on November 14th from 10am - 12pm or 1pm to 3pm.  The class fee is $8, we'll refund $5 if you spend $25 or more after class.  Bring you basic supply kit, everything else is provided.  We'll be using the NEW Mama Elephant Holiday stamps and dies to create the cards below.

NEW PRODUCTS
The new adult coloring book, Lost Ocean by Johanna Basford should be arriving any day.  These make great Holiday gifts!

And to color those wonderful, detailed images, this set of markers.  These are my favs!  They have a fine tip and don't bleed through most papers!  I use them in my planner too!  I don't expect these to last long once they arrive.  So, give us a call if you'd like us to hold a set for you.

Shaker Cards using the Fuse Tool

Today we're sharing a fun shaker card we created using the Fuse Tool.  We love this handy little tool!  It's great for pocket scrapbooking AND card making!

Here's how we created the shaker pocket:  We used MFT Stamps Blueprints Die Set #20 to cut the stitched piece from watercolor paper.  After cutting, we watercolored the piece using Iced Spruce Distress Ink and stamped it using Delicata Silvery Shimmer ink (our favorite silver ink). The stamp set is Mama Elephant's Peace on Earth set. We slid the piece into a scrapbooking page protector and fused three sides around the our stitched paper using the Fuse Tool.  Before fusing the top, we filled the pocket with Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear and Silver Metallic sequins.  We used Score-tape to secure the shaker pocket to the top of the scallop piece that was also cut from using MFT Stamps Blueprints #20.

Minc Machine from Heidi Swapp

We've been having so much fun playing with the Minc Machine from Heidi Swapp.  The foil effect it adds to embellishments and die cuts are amazing.  Take a peek below at some wonderful cards we made using the Minc Machine, Mink accessories, toner sheets and die cuts.

To create the card below, we added green foil using the Minc Machine to a package of Heidi Swapp Minc embellishments.   The word merry was cut from a Mama Elephant die, using the Minc toner sheets and then foiled.

It's really hard to see the wonderful, shiny, foil effect in these images.  (apologies for my reflection in the center of each of these cards)

We die cut some houses, using a Memory box die, from the Minc toner sheets and foiled them with the gold foil.  Wow!  I love how simple this card was to create and how amazing it looks!

Here's the last card.  We die cut that wonderful deer using a die from Impression Obsession and the Minc toner sheets.  Then we foiled it with red foil.  Again, wow!  I love how festive the cards look with the foil effects.  The little word flag was included in the embellishment pack we used  for the first card.  These little embellishments come out of the package ready to be foiled!  Just pick a foil color and you're ready to go!
