Art Journal Inspiration- Watercolor Flowers

Remember my flower from last week?  I wanted to add some color to them but I couldn't decided how or what I wanted to do.

So, I drew them again on some of the new 140 lb cold press watercolor paper we received last week.  I then added water to the flower petals and dropped in some very wet, Tim Holtz Distress Inks.  I used Picked Raspberry and Festive Berries.  After the petals dried, I added some Black Soot to the centers of the flowers and some blues and greens (sorry I can't remember the colors I used) to the rest of the paper.

Once everything was dry, I used my white Uniball Gel pen to add some white dots to the centers of the flowers.  I think I'll try coloring them with Inktense pencils next week.

Those turned out really well. Did you like that paper better than the small pads of multipurpose that you sell

  2. Thanks Janie. I liked it better than any other watercolor paper I've used. It's thicker, so it holds up well like the mixed media paper. It has a little texture that I thought was a nice change. I wouldn't say I like it better, probably the same with the only difference being the texture.
